The Breakfast Post | #2...

For this month's breakfast post, I decided to stay a little closer to home and venture into Blackheath. My favourite kind of day is breakfast on the heath, a short walk over to Greenwich then a stroll around the park and market. For Bank Holiday Monday, Ben and I headed to the wonderful Chapters which is set overing looking Blackheath towards Greenwich Park. It's a fail safe bet heading there - you'll never be disappointed with the food and especially not their caramel lattes (fyi: it's the creamiest, sweetest caramel coffee you'll find!).

I decided to stay away from my usual go-to sweet brunch and opt for the daily special of Breakfast Risotto. Rice for breakfast? Yep, I felt a bit uneasy about the choice but my curiosity won and I'm sure glad I listened to my gut!

I essentially had a Full English (minus the soggy stuff aka beans/tomatoes) in a risotto. Once I got over the initial eating rice for breakfast/brunch, it was great. Creamy, flavoursome and with a poached egg to die for, there was nothing to complain about. It's definitely a brunch rather than breakfast, even though I loved it, I couldn't imagine tucking into it at 8am!

Ben decided to go continental and have a Croque Madam. Judging by how fast he ate it, it must have been good. Chapters is the perfect start to a day hanging around Greenwich. If you're ever in the area, I'd definitely recommend you stop by.
